They say that no challenge is too great when you have love, courage, and the will to keep going. But what happens when life suddenly changes, and survival becomes the battle?

In the Philippines, thousands of individuals rely on dialysis to continue living. The cost of treatment, medication, and transportation can be overwhelming, turning each session into a test of both strength and financial endurance.

For Manny, affectionately known as Lito or Bong, resilience has always been a defining trait. A hardworking father, a devoted family man, and a passionate teacher and engineer, he built a life rooted in love and perseverance. But in 2021, life became more challenging when after 8 years of living with chronic kidney disease (CKD), he was required to undergo dialysis.

At first, dialysis was just twice a week–a difficult adjustment, but one he faced with optimism. With the support of his family and help from his HMO coverage, he was able to continue treatment without complications. Knowing that this will be a lifetime treatment, his family decided to transfer to a more affordable and more accessible clinic.

For six months, things were manageable—until an infection led to severe complications. A two-week hospital stay, mounting medical bills, and increased dialysis sessions made the journey even tougher. Recovery was slow and painful, yet he never gave up. Through it all, his family stood by him, grateful for every moment he fought to stay with them.

Manny’s experience is not unique. Many dialysis patients face similar struggles, which is why we are committed to providing financial support—covering treatment costs, medication, and transportation assistance, and, most importantly, ensuring that no one has to fight this battle alone.

His story is the heart of our mission. Every fight is our fight. Every win is a shared victory.
